We鈥檙e looking forward to welcoming you to the University this September and hope that the preparation for your studies is going well. We鈥檙e aware that there has been some media coverage internationally of a number of isolated incidents which took place last week in other parts of the UK. There was one limited incident which was resolved quickly in Birmingham.

The University was not directly impacted in any way by these incidents, which the police and the court system have dealt with swiftly and effectively, resulting in a much calmer environment across the country.

The disruptive events which occurred elsewhere in the UK were linked to an emotive, ongoing court case on Merseyside. They were not linked at all to international students, to whom the new government have re-affirmed their commitment through the maintenance of the Graduate Immigration Route.
