Support for students

Support for Staying in Higher Education

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ supports the needs of widening participation students, whatever their background. We can help via:

Academic Skills Centre

The centre offers a range of study-based help delivered by a team of specialist lecturers. Any student with specific learning needs, a health condition or a disability can get extra support. This might range from proof-reading assistance (provided by English Language Support) to additional support in the classroom or lecture hall.

Mentoring

At ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, mentors don’t teach or tell learners what to do. Trust is essential – and the partnership can be great fun, too.

Wellbeing and counselling

The University provides practical support and guidance on a confidential basis through its Counselling Service. Counsellors are trained to be impartial and objective regardless of social or academic factors.
