My expertise spans AI and machine learning, software development, data science and analytics, immersive technologies, games development, web engineering and networking and security. I’m also passionate about leveraging computer science to drive innovative healthcare solutions.

My diverse and international industry background includes roles such as an IT consultant whilst working in Dubai, academic roles (Assistant Lecturer and Programme Coordinator) in Sri Lanka, as well as administrative positions at UCB. This breadth of experience allows me to bring real-world insight, technical knowledge, and student-focused support into the classroom. And as a former HE student at UCB who worked as a Student Ambassador, I fully understand the student journey and am thrilled to be able to provide personalised guidance.

My current research focuses on monitoring Parkinson’s disease progression using advanced technologies. I’m proud to have played my part in the UCB Digital Department team, achieving the CyberFirst Silver College recognition from the National Cyber Security Centre. I’m also a STEM Ambassador with STEM Learning UK.

I encourage my students to believe in their potential and push themselves further. This drives my passion for guiding them to compete and succeed, such as through the WorldSkills UK competitions - ten UCB students entered, six progressed, and one became a National Finalist (one of only eight in the UK). We’ve also recently celebrated winning four major awards for a Digital Skills Consulting Project. Seeing my students’ growth, both academically and personally, motivates me to keep doing more.

What inspires me most is harnessing technology to create meaningful, real-world impact - whether through innovative research or equipping students with the skills to succeed in rapidly evolving industries. In my view, AI is not about replacing jobs but about creating new roles that expand opportunities in fields like big data, fintech, and software development.
