"As a current Pearson Standards Verifier, I’ve developed exams and learning resources and therefore have deep insight into assessment standards and what excellence really looks like."

I specialise in sports psychology, sports coaching, outdoor adventurous activities, and research projects. I teach on the NCFE Level 2 Diploma, Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science courses, and our Level 3 Sports Development & Coaching course, where I connect theory to real-world practice to build my students’ skills and confidence.

My professional background includes years working in the outdoor industry, coaching various sports, and working with awarding organisations on quality assurance. As a current Pearson Standards Verifier (for BTEC), I’ve developed exams and learning resources (for example for NCFE) and therefore have deep insight into assessment standards and what excellence really looks like. I’m also able to bring current industry expectations into my classes, linking coaching experiences to practical application so my students complete the course ready for employment or further study.

I’m most proud of balancing high educational standards with teaching that’s always student-focused, and of completing a master’s degree to strengthen my practice in FE leadership and learning. It’s super rewarding to see my students grow, get great results, and progress onto the next phase in their journeys.

In my spare time, I love travelling and experiencing different cultures.
