"I鈥檓 passionate about helping students who have no previous experience in the industry become qualified, confident hairdressers. A fun fact is that I was a UCB student myself - I know what it鈥檚 like to study here and I can usually point my students in the right direction."

With vast experience as a working hairdresser, I teach on our FE Hairdressing course at Levels 2 and 3, as well as on the Introduction to Level 1 Hair, Makeup and Beauty course.

I鈥檝e worked in salons since I was 13 years old, progressing to roles such as senior hair stylist in a local salon, hair stylist for Steiner Cruises, and Artistic Director / Hair and Beauty Manager at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Macau, China. I bring all of my insights from these professional experiences directly into the classroom and I鈥檓 able to share practical tips and skills for handling clients. My experience working overseas has also given me a strong cultural awareness - useful when students start working in different  settings.聽

A common misconception within our industry is that Hairdressing is 鈥渆asy鈥 and 鈥渘ot very academic鈥. In reality, it requires a high level of skill, precision, discipline and knowledge of products, techniques and health and safety.

My advice to students starting at UCB is simple: work hard and you will reap the rewards.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
