Powerhouse in engineering

Senior lecturer Rachael is a powerhouse of knowledge, skill and innovation when it comes to engineering, helping her students spark careers in an exciting, ever-evolving industry faced with big challenges.

Beginning her career in engineering at a college, she has been a key part of developments in automated manufacturing, witnessing first-hand the rapid changes in industry.

Graduating from university with a first class degree in mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering, Rachael鈥檚 experience has been predominantly in the production of electrical equipment, optical electronics research and development, aeronautic research and testing, and in the manufacture of lift control systems. Her vast experience in the field includes research and development of innovative products and automated manufacturing.

Finding her passion for engineering growing up fixing and re-purposing machinery on her family鈥檚 small holding farm, Rachael said: 鈥淚 have always been interested in how things work and experience has taught me that the engineering world constantly changes, and daily innovations exist.

鈥淚 have always enjoyed teaching, but I came here because I wanted to play a key role in the University鈥檚 ambition to prepare students for the future roles needed in engineering.鈥

She said there were many advantages to choosing to study engineering and construction at 蜜桃传媒.
