Coming from a family of nurses and professionals working with vulnerable members of society, Gabriella鈥檚 decision to go from dental nurse to a nurse caring for adult patients across a range of settings was a natural one.听

But, as a care home volunteer and foster carer with her mum, and with experience of working with people with severe additional needs, Gabriella was ultimately spurred on to take the plunge and go into full nursing due to the pandemic. 听

鈥淚t emphasised how much I enjoy being pushed outside of my comfort zone,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 love being challenged and wanted to keep developing personally and professionally, while having job satisfaction and continuing to learn and grow.鈥澨�

But why 蜜桃传媒?

鈥淚 wanted to stay in Birmingham as that is where I live, and the nursing course is intense, so I didn't want to move out,鈥� she said. 鈥淭hat way, I could still be around my family and friends as having a great support network is essential. 听

鈥淭he nursing degree at 蜜桃传媒 was right for me. I love learning, especially through practical sessions, and the facilities at the University are fantastic! I always look forward to our time in the Health Skills and Simulation Suite and its hospital ward, which definitely helps with training for the workplace. 听

鈥淭he teaching staff are also amazing and come from a range of healthcare backgrounds.听

鈥淏irmingham itself offers great opportunities for nurses with its variety of hospitals and outpatient services, and I鈥檓 looking forward to doing my first industry placement at an elderly frailty assessment unit.鈥澨�
