Gaining the experience that counts
Budding entrepreneur Santiago has plans to develop his own business after graduation, and he鈥檚 certain UCB is the right place for him to make that dream a reality.
鈥淯CB stood out to me because of its strong industry links and wide variety of modules,鈥� he said.
鈥淚t鈥檚 helped me develop my skills and knowledge through entrepreneurial, creative and independent thinking,鈥�
While studying, he has taken advantage of every opportunity available to him 鈥� both academic and otherwise.
鈥淚鈥檝e worked as a course representative and relished the chance to raise the student voice in official meetings, and I鈥檝e also been an active member of the football society.鈥�
In order to gain more practical, real-world experience, Santiago intends to undertake a placement, and he鈥檚 already secured the perfect role for the next academic year.
鈥淚鈥檒l be taking part in the Disney Academic International Program and I鈥檓 so excited. The HIRED team were vital in helping me find this opportunity and I couldn鈥檛 wait to apply,鈥� he said.
鈥淚t鈥檒l be a great chance to gain industry exposure, improve my confidence and skills, and strengthen my CV.鈥�
Santiago is considering studying for a master鈥檚 after graduation before taking the leap into the world of business, but right now he鈥檚 enjoying life at UCB.
鈥淢y experience here has been great; the University environment, the support from lecturers, and the societies offered. I couldn鈥檛 have asked for more.鈥�
